Jersey as worn for the Anzac Day clash against the Melbourne Storm in Round 7. The Storm narrowly edged out a 13-12 win over the Warriors in a very tightly contested game.
From the Warriors Website:
"The poppy fields at the base of the jersey represent the fields of remembrance and also symbolise the Anzac spirit."
"Both the North and South Islands are also represented by the distant maunga (mountains) - Aoraki on the front of the jersey and Taranaki on the back. Together they symbolise all those that came together to fight for our whenua (land) and people."
“Canterbury’s design of the Anzac jersey pays tribute to those who have made sacrifices for the service of our country,” Canterbury of New Zealand managing director Jamie Meikleham said.
